Summary objective: Blitzscale the best-in-class entities (content/philosophies/ideas, products/businesses, people, investments, etc; note that this list has a certain logical sequencing :)).
- I operate best in environments where there is a very high ceiling for open-endedness and creativity, enabling me to holistically understand the entire scope of complex systems (whether technical or non-technical in nature, such as people/organizational systems) and leverage that to find and execute on surprising high-impact connections.
- For example, I have successfully taken innovative lines of questioning when interviewing candidates to gain the most information in a limited amount of time.
- My modus operandi for the above is conducting innovative research & development for organizations by prolifically seeking out the right resources from industry best practices and bridging them in the right balance into the context of the current organizational situation (harder than it sounds).
The following books, when their core principles are distilled, together comprise a significant (80%+) part of my holistic professional philosophy of work and leadership:
- Give and Take (Adam Grant): "Pay it forward" mentality, always assuming the best intentions
- Radical Candor (Kim Scott): Transparency - the notion that feedback is crucial for helping people (including oneself) improve and thus people should strive to both give and receive it more willingly. On a scale from 0-10, my preferred *inbound* level of directness likely sits at least at the 11-12+ range, but from an *outbound* perspective, can also adapt to other styles as the situation warrants.
- Meaning Revolution (Fred Kofman): Transcendent leadership - truly wanting to see as much of people as they holistically are, beyond the dimensions/limitations of traditional leadership systems, and then helping them become the best versions of themselves and make the most impact towards themselves, their communities, and the holistic worldwide system.
- High Growth Handbook (Elad Gil) / Blitzscaling (Reid Hoffman): Hypergrowth-minded / motivated / hardworking - having a strong intrinsic interest in self-improvement (see http://bit.ly/2uAZdMb) as another component ("slope") to past experience ("y-intercept"). I furthermore have a track record of scouting and leveraging talent or impact in others that would otherwise go relatively unnoticed.
- Range (David Epstein): Generalist - able and willing to pivot fluidly across many domains.
- Outliers (Malcolm Gladwell): Smart - part of the "smart and gets stuff done (GSD)" mentality
