In 2016, facing poverty and biodiversity collapse on our land our community of 3,000 rallied together to create the first indigenous owned/run conservancy in East Africa. Under our mixed-use model pooling our 5000 acres, we tore down all fencing, creating a commons where we reverted to rotation grazing and reopened a key migration corridor.
