As a key member of Coinbase’s Finance team, the Strategic Sourcing Manager plays a critical role in optimizing vendor relationships, managing multimillion-dollar contracts, and driving financial risk mitigation strategies that support Coinbase’s mission. This position entails managing highly complex sourcing challenges and driving significant impact across the company. With discretion and autonomy, you will lead sourcing strategies, influence policies, and manage multimillion-dollar vendor relationships. You are expected to leverage deep technical knowledge, advanced communication, and cross-functional leadership skills to shape Coinbase’s sourcing decisions and strategic direction.

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):

• Strategic Leadership

  : Act as a trusted advisor to internal teams and a primary external-facing representative for vendor communications and negotiations.

• Advanced Negotiations

  : Lead contract negotiations for new and existing suppliers, partnering with Legal and business stakeholders to secure favorable terms.

• Risk Mitigation

  : Develop and deploy sourcing strategies that reduce financial, legal, and operational risks, and ensure compliance with company policies.

• Spend Management

  : Execute and oversee spend management projects, with goals to optimize savings, enhance process efficiency, consolidate suppliers, and improve transparency and control.

• Complex Analysis

  : Conduct market research, RFx strategy development, supplier evaluations, and detailed cost modeling to drive award recommendations and sourcing strategies.

• Stakeholder Communication

  : Clearly communicate sourcing decisions and their impact to leadership while aligning cross-functional teams on project objectives.

• Continuous Improvement

  : Drive adoption of best-in-class sourcing practices and foster innovation through cutting-edge tools and technologies.

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

• Education & Background

  :
  • BA/BS in Business, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, or related fields is required; MBA or advanced degree is highly preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, preferably in high-growth, fast-paced industries.
