Anand Ranganathan is an Engineering Manager at Bridgewater Associates, focusing on Research-related technologies and platforms. Previously, he was a Co-founder and the Chief AI Officer at OneByZero, a consulting firm specializing in delivering data & AI solutions. At OneByZero, he led projects around Generative AI, customer value management, demand forecasting, and operations optimization for different industries such as telecommunications, financial services, and retail. Before that, he was the Chief AI Officer at Unscrambl, where he led product development around natural language processing, automated insights, data story-telling, real-time decision-making, and marketing optimization. He also recently worked at Splore, a domain-specific Generative AI-powered search company, and led AI and NLP initiatives in the core search product. This included tackling problems around ranking, question-answering, hybrid search, use of vector DBs, LLM use and finetuning, and learning-to-rank methodologies. Before joining Unscrambl, he was a Global Technical Ambassador, Master Inventor, and Research Scientist at IBM, where he was deeply involved in the development and go-to-market of IBM's Stream Processing and Big Data products. He received his PhD in Computer Science from UIUC, and his BTech from IIT-Madras. He also has over 70 academic journal and conference publications and 30 patent filings in his name.
