Peter Thiel famously said, ‘Every moment in business happens only once.’ At 18, I joined the Pakistan Military Academy as a cadet, rising to the top and even being selected to represent Pakistan at West Point in the US. But by 20, I was out of the army (That's my Steve Jobs story) I decided to study computer science in Canada, juggling classes with jobs as a sales associate, snow shoveler, dishwasher, and some crypto losses along the way! Then came an opportunity: a role at a startup, Koii Network, where I began as a software developer but soon moved into operations. When tough times hit and people left, I found myself stepping up as head of operations. I had the privilege of representing Koii at events in Canada, Singapore, London, and Lisbon, a life-changing experience. During a brief sabbatical back in Pakistan, a friend had a horrific experience with a ride-hailing service. I realized then that nearly every woman I knew had a story about feeling unsafe using these services. Despite the outcry, nothing was being done to address this issue. It felt like a calling, and I founded PinkFly, a ride-hailing service to make women feel safe, comfortable, and empowered.
